The bench of Justice Hemant Srivastav of Patna High Court has issued a notice to BJP MP Satish Chandra Dubey from Valmiki Nagar Parliamentary Constituency in Bihar on Monday.

This case is related to the murder of Gauri Shankar Arya, a textile businessman. He was killed in 1999. In this case, the son of Gauri Shankar Arya had lodged an FIR against unknown criminals. Later, on the basis of the statements of the witnesses, the name of Satish Chandra Dubey, who is now BJP MP from Valmiki Nagar, had surfaced. But due to lack of evidence, on January 31, 2018, the Additional Judge of Western Champaran, Betia lower court had acquitted him.

After this, the family appealed in the Patna High Court. High Court Judge Hemant Srivastav heard this and after seeing all the records, sent a notice to BJP MP Satish Chandra Dubey and others four namely Vashisht Pandey, KP Sinha alias Munna Singh, Guddu Choubey, Bablu Shrivastav and Pankaj Agrawal. These four are already named in some criminal cases.

Dinu Kumar, lawyer of Vinod Arya, son of deceased Gauri Shankar Arya, told The Morning Chronicle that adequate evidence was found against Satish Chandra Dubey on which basis honourable High Court had sent him including others a notice.

The Morning Chronicle team tried to contact Dubey on his Delhi mobile number to know his side but despite several attempts his phone was not picked up. His Bihar number was switched off.

BJP MP hails from Harshari village of Narkatiaganj, Bihar. He has been a member of the Legislative Assembly from 2005 to 2014 and became an MP in 2014.
