Bihar: Permission denied for Former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar road-shows




JNUSU Former President and MP Candidate of CPI from Begusarai

CPI on Tuesday claimed that Barh Sub Divisional Officer and Patna District Magistrate have denied permission for JNUSU president and CPI’s MP candidate from Begusarai Kanhaiya Kumar’s road shows from Mokama to Patna which was to be begun from Mokama on 22 and would end in Patna on 24 October ahead of CPI’s state rally at Patna Gandhi Maidan on 25 October.

Kumar has been campaigning for the rally in Bihar and courted a recent controversy when he went to see ailing AISF national secretary Sushil Kumar at Patna AIIMS. Patna AIIMS administration filed an FIR against Kanhaiya and his supporters at Phulwari Sharif Police Station. Patna AIIMS had posted an update on FB in which Kanhaiya Kumar was accused of misbehaving with AIIMS doctors and requested government of India for appropriate security. Sushil Kumar in a press conference at Patna denied all allegations and alleged that his visitors were being humiliated from the day since his identity was known to AIIMS administration. He alleged that an FIR against the AIIMS administration was also not accepted by Phulwari Sharif police station.

CPI has organised a state rally ‘Bhajpa Bhagao Loktantra Bachao (Defeat BJP, Save Democracy)’ on 25 October at Patna’s historical Gandhi Maidan.

Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Tejashwi Yadav, former Union minister Sharad Yadav, former CM and Hindustan Awama Morcha (Secular) President Jitan Ram Manjhi, Samajwadi Party senior functionary and formerUnion Minister Devendra Prasad Yadav, besides general secretaries of the CPI, CPM and CPI (ML) – S Sudhakar Reddy, Sitaram Yechury and Dipankar Bhattacharya, respectively and state Congress president Madan Mohan Jha wuold be noted participants in the rally.

In a statement, state secretary of CPI Satya Narayan Singh said the main purpose behind the rally is to ensure the defeat of BJP-led NDA in the 2019 parliamentary elections and also set the ground for the formation of Left,democratic and secular alliance in the state.
