Patna: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder daughter and RJD candidate from Pataliputra seat, Dr Misa Bharti filed her nomination for Lok Sabha elections on Friday.
Misa arrived for nomination with a picture of her father in her hand.
Speaking to the media, Misa Bharti said, “For the first time I am going to enrol without his presence, the people of Pataliputra are with us. Even though he is not present here but I know his blessings are with me,” she said.
RJD supremo Lalu Prasad is in jail in connection with the fourth fodder scam. He is currently admitted in RIMS, Ranchi for treatment.
She was accompanied by mother Rabri Devi and brother Tej Pratap Yadav during the nomination process.
Misa Bharti is currently an MP in Rajya Sabha. She had contested from the same seat in 2014 but lost to BJP candidate Ram Kripal Yadav, a former RJD parliamentarian.
In this seat, the CPI and CPI-ML are supporting Misa Bharti.
