A fire broke out on the first and second floor near the emergency ward of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Saturday afternoon. There was no report of any casualty or injury so far. The fire brigade has reached the spot, news agency ANI reported.
Dark plumes of smoke were seen billowing from top of the premier health institute. It is being reported that Emergency Ward has been closed as a precautionary measure.

A Delhi Fire Services official told PTI that they received a call in the PC and Teaching Block of the hospital at around 5 PM and 22 fire tenders were immediately dispatched to control it.
Former finance minister Arun Jaitley is admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the cardio-neuro centre, housed in a different building in the complex.
