Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), April 12, 2018 (TMC Desk) Resigned Minister Chander Prakash Ganga after his resignation has put his party, the BJP in a new controversy. He said that he was sent to Kathua rally by the party which was organised to defend the rape accused and it was not his decision. My resignation was a stunt to save the party’s image.

“We were sent to the rally by BJP. Our party leader Sat Sharma sent us. We went there on the party’s instructions. We heard the people’s grievances. People said that since the investigation has changed thrice, we do not trust it. They wanted CBI probe. I felt that if my sacrifice is required to protect the BJP’s image,I will gladly do it.” Resigned Minister Chander Prakash Ganga spoke to Times Now.

The BJP on Saturday accepted the resignation of two of its ministers from the Jammu and Kashmir coalition government but said their unwise move to go and pacify people rallying for suspects of rape and murder of a minor was “mistaken for trying to shield the accused”.

BJP General Secretary and its Kashmir pointsman Ram Madhav, who was here to attend the party’s legislature meet, ruled out any threat to the ruling alliance in the wake of the resignations by the two ministers – Choudhary  Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga.
