Sushil Modi who has been whistle blower in scams against Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family is now in the same court. Rekha Modi who is Modi’s cousin has been accused in the Srijan scam, a scam bigger than the fodder scam. She has been accused of receiving funds in crores from Srijan accounts.
According to newspaper reports, it is revealed in the investigation that Srijan office bearers used to lavish expensive gifts including diamond jewels on bureaucrats, politicians and their families. Proprietor of Jalan Gems, Ravi Jalan confessed that Rekha Modi had paid him several times in lieu of expensive diamond jewels.
Currently, Rekha Modi is absconding and nobody is able to inform where she is, according to JanSatta. Rekha Modi and Manorama Devi (Late secretary of Srijan) were very intimate. However, Sushil Modi has been claiming that his relationship with his sister is not good. Rekha Modi had accused her brothers of tearing her clothes previously.
It is noteworthy that in the Srijan scam, names of several BJP leaders including cabinet minister Giriraj Singh, former parliamentarian Shahnawaz Hussain, BJP parliamentarian from Jharkhand Nishikant Dubey, suspended Kisan Morcha president of the BJP have been cropped up. These politicians have been directly or indirectly associated with late secretary Manorama Devi and her son Amit Kumar and daughter in law Priya. In a new revelation, Rekha Modi has been made accused. Many more names are likely to appear.
Premier investigating agency, the CBI has taken charge to investigate the scam now. The CBI team comprises 12 members and is headed by ASP Surendra Mallik. The agency is minutely checking with the registered FIRs, documents apart from preparing a list of Bank officials, staff members, office bearers of Srijan Mahila Vikas Sahyog Samiti Limited.
Although Sushil Modi claims he is not on good terms with his sister, the opposition is not seen sparing him. “Modi is really weird, when he gets trapped in a scandal, he denies relationship with his kith and kin,” in a very strident comment, Tejashwi Yadav tweets.
