A Kalashnikov assault rifle and explosives were seized from the ancestral home of Bihar musclemen turned MLA Anant Singh in a police raid on Friday.

An automatic Kalashinikov assault rifle and explosives were recovered from the ancestral home of Bihar muscleman turned MLA Anant Singh in a police raid on Friday.

The raid on the house at Ladma village in the Barh sub-division of Patna district started early morning, and were continuing in the evening. Several units of Bihar police personnel and commandos have been delpoyed in and around the place.

“An automatic rifle which looks like AK-47 or AK-56 and a few bombs wrapped in plastic sheets have been seized. Twenty-six rounds of the rifle’s bullets have been found in the magazine,” The Telegraph quoted Patna rural superintendent of police Kantesh Kumar Mishra as saying.

Anant, known as “chhote sarkar“, is an Independent MLA from Mokama in Patna district.
