Opposition hits out at BJP’s 2019 poll manifesto, Kejriwal calls it a Fresh Set of Jumlas while Patel terms it as a bunch of lies

Congress Rajya Sabha Member Ahmad Patel (L) and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

The Bhartiya Janata Party on Monday released its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the party headquarters in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the focus and vision of the party towards nation building outlined in the ‘sankalp patra’ is on “one vision, one direction”.

Soon after its release, Congress party lashed out at the ruling party calling their manifesto a “book of gimmicks.”

Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel said that the BJP for its 2019 manifesto had simply copied and pasted its 2014 manifesto and changed all previous deadlines from 2019 to 2022,2032,2047,2097.

“The difference between BJP manifesto and Congress manifesto can be seen firstly from the cover page. Our’s has a crowd of people, and BJP manifesto has face of just one man. Instead of a manifesto BJP should have come out with a maafinama,” Patel tweeted.

Patel in also questioned over organising no Question and Answer session for the press. He said Cogress had allowed press to ask the questions while the BJP avoided this out of arrogance.

“After we presented our manifesto, we held a detailed Q&A session And immediately after BJP presented its manifesto, all of their leaders went home without even taking a single question No answers on their 5 years? It is this arrogance which will bring them down on May 23rd,” he tweeted.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called Bharatiya Janata Party manifesto “fresh set of jumlas” and said the duo — Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah — doesn’t have the courage to speak on demonetisation.

“BJP unveils a fresh set of jumlas without telling the country what is the fate of its 2014 jumlas. Modi-Shah don’t have the courage to speak on why demonetisation was done? What happened to two crore jobs? Why were farmers pushed towards destruction?,” Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.
