Walk for a Cause, don’t waste food

Patna, Bihar: System Research Society, in continuation of the Don’t You Waste Food, Patna Conclave, held at Panache Hotel, yesterday, conducted an awareness walk on the same subject today.

Students from leading Patna Schools, Representatives of the Central Reserve Police Force, CRPF, cadets from National Cadet Corps (NCC) Army, some citizens of Patna, and office bearers of Indian Red Cross, Bihar Chapter, and members of System Research Society, from various parts of India, participated in the awareness walk.


The walk was flagged of by Chairman of Bihar Chapter of Red Cross Society, Dr.Sinha and Sri Sri Babaji, Spiritual Mentor of System Research Society.  The walk began from the Red Cross facility, adjacent to Gandhi Maidan at 10am.

The walkers distributed pamphlets to the pedestrians, and other way farers as they walked around the perimeter of Patna’s iconic Gandhi Maidan. The walk was a very high energy experience, for its participants. The walkers, led by the students, also raised slogans, to create awareness regarding the critical importance of preventing food waste.  The walk also featured innovative placards to spread the appropriate message.

Upon return to the Red Cross compound, the Participants had refreshments, as a brief message was shared with them by President of Red Cross Society, and System Research Society.  The message reiterated the importance of the cause, and appealed to the participants to become individual ambassadors for the cause, among their respective peer groups.

By walking an extra mile, DYWF brand ambassadors initiated fight against global food waste in Patna city today. These young budding minds created and promoted awareness on the national food waste. The walk was also joined by NCC cadets and CRPF jawans who are now an integral part of DYWF campaign. Sharing the common goal with the students, Women’s Association of Patna High Court also endorsed the movement and participated in the walk. Various other established organizations and institutions, social workers and educationists supported the movement with a commitment to promote waste-no-food culture for the future generations.
