More than 150 CBI Officials attended a three days Art of Living workshop at CBI headquarter in Delhi which concluded today. It is said that the workshop is meant to motivate CBI officials and improve their positivity.

The Art of Living as it claims on its website offers effective educational and self-development programs and tools that facilitate the elimination of stress and foster deep and profound inner peace, happiness and well-being for all individuals. However, its founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar propagates Hinduism and praises the BJP and PM Modi openly that creates doubt over its training programs.

Sri Sri has also been controversial many a time especially on Babri Masjid-Ram Mandir issue. On March 05, 2018 he had raised a controversy after his soft warning on the issue that is being dealt by the Supreme Court. He had said that If Ram Mandir issue was not solved, we would have a Syria in India. His statement was heavily criticised by people across India.

The Central Bureau of Investigation is facing a credibility crisis when feud of its two top bosses Rakesh Asthana and Alok Verma had surfaced and consequently both were sent on leave and Nageshwar Rao joint director of CBI had taken the charge. Alok Verma had accused Rakesh Asthana of bribery. Later, both went to the Supreme court over forced leave. The top court had asked Nageshwar Rao not to take any policy related decision. According to media reports, when contacted to comment on this workshop whether it is a policy issue or not, the spokesperson of the agency refused to comment.

ANI quoted Sri Sri saying that the workshop will relieve the stress of CBI officials. “It’s good. Their stress will be relieved. The main factor in this energy programme is that it involves teamwork. Working together with cooperation develops new motivation,” Sri Sri Ravi Shankar told the media agency.

The reason behind the CBI organising a workshop by Art of Living for its officials is unknown. However, experts say it is a contempt of the Supreme Court as it is clearly a policy related decision.
